Refer a patient for ABA therapy

Enough for us to act on, and no more than that. The essentials are the child's name and date of birth, a phone number for the parent or guardian, the autism diagnosis with the date it was made, and the insurance carrier. If you have the diagnostic evaluation, send it. It is the single document that moves an authorization fastest.

Useful but not required: current therapies, the school district and any IEP, and what prompted the referral now. One line about the behaviors of concern gives our BCBA a head start on the assessment.

If something is missing, send it anyway. We would rather chase a detail than leave a family waiting on a complete packet.

The family hears from us within one business day. We verify insurance benefits free and tell them in plain terms what their plan covers, what it will cost, and what has to happen next.

A BCBA then completes the assessment and writes the treatment plan, which we submit to the payer. Authorization usually takes one to three weeks. Once it lands, therapy starts in the family's home, generally within a few weeks of your referral reaching us.

You are not left guessing. Status updates are available on request at any point, and we will tell you if a referral stalls and why.

Pediatricians and developmental pediatricians, the psychologists and child psychiatrists who make the diagnosis, Early Intervention teams transitioning a child at age three, school child study teams, care management organizations, and New Jersey's Children's System of Care through PerformCare. Families refer themselves too, and often do.

You do not need an existing relationship with us to send one. If you have a family who needs in-home ABA anywhere in New Jersey, send it over.
